Step by Step Make-up for Plus Size Women (Solekan Langkah Demi Langkah untuk Wanita Bertubuh Gempal) for Dara.com Magazine January 2008 issue @ Karangkraf, Shah Alam, Selangor.

Assalamualaikum Stylistas of Abaya Suraya!

I was assigned by a reporter of Dara.com, the sweet and super nice Allahyarhamah Mrs. Aida Rofiza (Al-Fatihah), or I just called her Kak Ida, to do a step-by-step makeover for the magazine’s beauty spread. She asked me to do a make-up on a plus size model, Mardiana, teaching the ways of how to make a chubby face looks slimmer with make-up. She wanted it to look beautiful yet natural. I was happy to do something different. It is always much more challenging and satisfying to do make-up on someone who is not naturally given with sharp features. It shows that make-up can do so much to enhance your look, anyone can look more beautiful with the proper make-up.

Assalamualaikum Stylistas of Abaya Suraya!

Shooting with the other interns and 3R Hosts for Episode 12@ Petaling Jaya (Saturday, 29th December 2007)

Salam,

Today I went to the location where I was supposed to meet the other 2 winners at a house nearby Assunta Hospital. It was one of the crew’s friend’s home.

There I was introduced to Chawirath a.k.a Rath ,22, who is a Mass Comm student at UniTAR, Setapak. She is a mixture of Chinese and Thai and for her 30 seconds talent she performed the Thai traditional song “Loy Kra Tong”.

Another was Farah Nadia a.k.a Nadeen, 19, who is a Science student doing her American Degree Programme (ADP) at INTEC, Shah Alam. Both were nice and we got along well from the start. As for Nadeen, she crowed like a rooster, and it sounded exactly like a rooster. :p

The other 3 hosts were there to join us as well and co-incidentally it was Celina’s 29th birthday, so all of us sang her Happy Birthday.

With the 3R Hosts, Rafidah, Celina & Tini

Then we prepared for the shooting. While waiting I spoke to the other crews asking of how to use the electrical equipments etc. Back to normal, all the crews were being very nice and friendly to me, see I told you they were not scary.

Abang Jamal, who is like a father to all of us

Keong, our cameraman who makan camera tidur camera hidup camera!

When we were ready, the hosts and interns (the director Angie referred to us as Co-Hosts I felt so proud because it is a long-time dream of mine to host 3R, so it felt like a dream come true J ) sat in front of a flat screen TV on a couch, as though as all of us were watching our ordeals as the 3R Interns. Rath did her challenges on Friday morning whereas I did on Friday afternoon. Worst for Nadeen she just finished doing the challenges on that very Saturday morning, where she just changed for this next shooting. It shows that the Red Comm team works really fast and efficient in editing etc.

Our pleasant but yet dedicated at work director, Angie

Rath paired up with Celina had to contact people regarding on the trip to Vietnam. She had to book tickets as well as contact people to be interviewed on 3R. As for Nadeen who was paired up with Rafidah, she had to prepare the props of a location as well as find location for a restaurant scene. She got scolded real bad by 2 of the ‘restaurant owners’ until she could not stand it she cried. I don’t blame her, they acted so realistically! Then after watching those footages, the 3R Hosts commented about our performances as the interns, and pointed out our good points and weaknesses. It was actually for 3R episode focusing about graduates doing internship after graduating.

With the 3R Interns and the director Angie, love working with all of you!

At the very end, we were given a 'surprise' which was our reward was the trip to Vietnam. Yes yes yes!!! I just cannot wait, but before that there is another shooting for me to go, which is to show travel preparation. Stay tuned!
