Personal Beauty Workshop & Make-up Demonstration (Bengkel Kecantikan & Demonstrasi Solekan Peribadi) @ Kampung Pandan, Kuala Lumpur.

Assalamualaikum Stylistas of Abaya Suraya!

I started this Sunday morning early with my sister Deena accompanying me, to meet my student at her place in Kampung Pandan. Her name is Ananthi Rama, who was so eager to learn Malay Bridal Make-up techniques. She is a huge fan of Malay Bridal Make-up because according to her, it really transforms the dull, unattractive look of the person getting the make-over into super fabulous. =D

I started the personal workshop with introducing her the proper skincare practice (always keep in mind that beautiful skin brings beautiful make-up), the make-up tools and standard make-up products for her to own in order for her to be a good make-up artiste. After that I started the make-up demo on herself while she studies the techniques in the mirror and questioning me non-stop of what she needs to know.

She was ecsatic when she saw the final result to know that she actually owns a pair of huge, gorgeous eyes (this part I didn't get because as an Indian it's normal for her to have beautiful big eyes, just before this she did not notice them =D) and sexy pouty lips.

Till now Ananthi still contacts me in case if she has any make-up queries especially on the right things to purchase.

Now Ananthi has started to become a make-up artiste herself, perhaps if you like to try out her service you may contact Ananthi at 016-261 2224.

Assalamualaikum Stylistas of Abaya Suraya!

Night Make-up @ Grand Blue Wave Hotel, Shah Alam (Friday, 27th June 2008)

Salam,

I was very excited when I received an SMS from this friend of mine, Nadeen, requesting for me to do her make-up for her college's Prom Night before she continues her American Degree Programme at the US. FYI, I've known Nadeen when both of us won the 3R Intern Search to Vietnam in January 2008 together with another winner, Chawirath.

This bubbly 19 year old young lady, an ex-student of INTEC at Shah Alam was the Director of her Prom Night so definitely she had to look hot for the night! She wanted to have a look which makes her look hot and gorgeous but still makes her look youthful. I made it quite heavy on the eyes but gave her lips a nude shade. Most importantly, a glowing complexion is a must to look youthful.

She was clad in black and gold attire, well I think her whole look for the night was gorgeous, not only chic but glamourous as well. After the make-over many people thought that she resembles a lot like her infamous celebrity sister, Hot FM's DJ, Fara Fauzana @ Fafau. However personally I think Nadeen is the prettier version between the 2 of them :)

Before

After

Lookin' fine!

Below were some of the pics while I was helping her to get ready..

Shopping for Father's Day @ Nike Golf, Pavillion & Baloon Buzz, Great Eastern Mall.

Salam,

This year my sister, Nana & I planned to have a big surprise for Ayah on Father's Day. We usually have the gifts for his birthday and father's day and sometimes for Eid but this time we just wanted to have an extra special one.

We planned to have the gifts to be delivered to his office, so that all his staffs would witness this happy moment, and hopefuly he would be floating on clouds all day long :p

So on Sunday, we hit the uber awesome Bukit Bintang's shopping mall, The Pavillion.

Since Ummi also wanted to do some shopping, she browsed for new sunglasses and happily purchased a nice brown pair at Fossil.

See sign behind: Make Dad's Day - Alright that is EXACTLY what we were aiming for! =)

Next stop was to purchase something new which accomodates Ayah's passion for Golf. We checked out Reebok & Fila and saw some cool golfing stuff but nothing quite the things which would suit Ayah.

Thus we checked out Nike Golf (its name speaks for itself) and we hopped that it would be the best place to purchase something for him. Besides that I always like Nike the best when it comes to sports wear, like between Adidas and Nike I always prefer Nike for its designs. The shop assistant there if I am not mistaken his name was Iman, this one Malay guy, very very helpful. He's a former golf caddy so his explanations were very informative in directing us on what to purchase and what most likely we should not. For instance there was this one collar T-shirt we really liked, but he said the material requires very delicate care and for a man to use it many times to the field is not advisable, the T-shirt was more to be worn for style purposes.

Then after agreeing on the budget with my sister, we agreed to purchase for him something quite fancy for us students and we chose a pair of new golf shoes for him which costs us almost RM 800. It was a pair from the Tiger Woods' Platinum (or was is Titanium?) Collection and seriously many of the pairs were very attractive to us. We wanted this one design in white but it was not practical for Ayah to use it when he plays golf so we settled for the black ones of the same design. Here is the
model (the black one) we bought for him since I lost the photo on my hard disk (hehe this very small pic is the only exact one I could find on the net) :

It is the Nike Air Zoom Elite S model from the Tiger Wood's Platinum Series (whatever that represents, sounds bombastic enough for me). I did not want them to emblazzoned the huge Swoosh! Nike logo, but I wanted to have a more classy look on the shoes so that was the reason we chose this. They are made from premium full grain leather so they smell really nice (since they were not being used yet of course).

The nicest thing was when my sis and I were eyeing this one adorable silver & hot pink golf bag for women which we found very convenient to be used to class or any casual outing. The price was nearly RM 300 so might as well we forget something we did not really need. Then Iman said since we purchased the shoes he would not mind to give us 70% discount on the newly arrived bag so we only had to pay about RM 80 plus! How cool was that? :D

Our new hot-paid-30%-only-from-full price bag!

Tiger Woods, the magnificent golfer before he became the magnificent cheater *shaking my head*

Yup yup! So we got the gift for Ayah and a nice bag for ourselves.
Then for some accessories for the main gift, we went to Balloon Buzz, Great Eastern Mall, Jalan Ampang to have a super eye-catching Father's Day balloon for Ayah.
Of course this one was surely chosen.

How could you not be a Super Dad when you are Mr Incredible?
The balloon cost us quite a bomb as well (rare, piece of art, whatever) but since we wanted ayah's surprise to be super special we just had to pejamkan mata. Anyways when we carried the balloon to our car, we were delighted to receive smiling glances from people nearby towards us especially they meant like an approval when they came from older folks like indicating "Baik anak-anak ni." Cheeeyeah... :p

Not only that, since it was a Sunday (the next day after we purchased the shoes) when we wanted to order some flower arrangement for Ayah to be delivered to his office, the task was quite daunting since many floral shops were closed at the Subang, PJ area. Finally we spotted a dainty shop and we ordered some simple but nice flower arrangement to be put on his table. So the tasks were completed.
We requested for the florist to deliver the flower arrangement, the Nike golf shoes and of course Super Dad balloon to Ayah's office first thing on Monday morning before he enters his office. When he opened the door to his room, he was surprised and all his staffs came to him congratulating him and teasing him about the Super Dad balloon, especially because of Mr Incredible's buff body. Haha. Alhamdulillah everything went according to plan and Ayah was so so so delighted and he was ecstatic about the shoes. Well Ayah appreciates anything from us even when I gave him the CSI Bukit Aman T-Shirt for him, he straight away changed his T-Shirt in front of me indicating how much he appreciates it. Yes he had the Super Dad balloon in his office room till it became completely deflated.
So Ayah, we love you!
You are our Super Dad!
Love you love you love you~ =)

Relay for Life by National Cancer Society Malaysia @ Stadium Majlis Sukan Negara (MSN), Bukit Jalil (Saturday 31st May- Sunday 1st June 2008)

Salam,
After spending a great fun time with Mira, I proceeded my plans with another bestfriend of ours Shazana to sleep over at Stadium MSN at Bukit Jalil. Mira was quite offended that we did not invite her but it was because she just had her brother's wedding so she should have to spend more time with her family and her new sis-in-law or else her mum would be annoyed with us so next time k Mira? :)

Alright, we headed to Stadium MSN with more of Sha's friends from UM to show some support for the National Cancer Society. Relay for Life is actually an event where you have to pay 10 bucks to join the activities and it's all for a good cause, all collection be it from the ticket fees to the food and other booths' collection will be donated to the society. The biggest aim is for all participants to have as many laps around the field overnight till the next morning as a symbol of support that you are fighting cancer together with the patients.

It's important for me to join Sha because her beloved grandmother (whom she fondly called Dada, the zestiest old woman anyone could have known I bet, so full of life and energy and literally not afraid of anything) lost the battle of cancer recently. I just felt that cancer was a reason for Allah to make her finally end her life, because she was such an energetic, healthy person and at least I think she had a long, beautiful and so full of experience life. This event was participated mostly by family members whom have lost their loved ones due to cancer and this event is a way for them to show remembrance to their loved ones of course.

With Sha's friends from UM, a great bunch of girls. =)

The event started in the evening, and when we reached there many musical performances have started already such as performances by singers, dancers and even the hillarious drag queen contest. Suria FM also showed great support by bringing local celebrities such as Aizat and Dina as well as their anchors to perform that night. Other celebrities that came to support were Sazzy Falak and more but I could not remember them all. One thing I noticed was that there were more Christians, Buddhists and Hindus (even Atheists in fact) and I really hope more Muslims would support this kind of event. Alhamdulillah when this event was known more to the public, more people came to the same event the next year and I heard more of my Malay friends showed their enthusiasm for this event as well.
The biggest highlight of the night was when anyone may purchase as many luminars at a price of RM 1 each. A luminar is only a white lunch paper bag where you may decorate them as you like, and during midnight the volunteers would light up candles in them so the designs would illuminate in the dark. Many of the designs warmed my heart till tears welled up in my eyes. For example Shazana made a personal note to her Dada and I saw others small children writing some personal notes telling how much they missed their lost mothers, grandparents etc. Not forgetting some men and women dedicated the luminars for their spouses whom also lost the battle of cancer.
May all their souls rest in peace.

Lights of Love

Shazana and I.

Besides that there was a contest for the most beautiful tent. We basically just planned to stay awake all night (as if) without preparing any tents, sleepings bags, mats not even newspapers. We had the hillarious company of Sha's actor friend, we call him Abang Megat who made us laugh all night with his balloon helium-laugh (even made us laughed with his ghost stories but I was starting to be sleepy already). Yup we were fortunate to meet our old friends from our high school, SMK Taman Melawati amongst them were Nadhirah and Aliah and they were kind enough to invite us to hang out at their nicely decorated tent.

With some of our schoolmates at their tent.

Sha nagged to me a little for sleeping, when she instead on and off continued doing laps of walks. Cayalah Sha hehe. I cannot recall how many times I did the laps, but I can bet you it's a figure which no one can be proud of :p But hey I was there to show some support at least! I did not know there was yoga session as the morning exercise, but I did try for pocho-pocho for the first time though I was terrible.
Anyways I had such a lovely time with Sha and her friends. Thanks girls for inviting me to join ya all. =)

Dengan Shazana yang sentiasa cantik walaupun tak mandi pagi.

Our retarded poses!

Suraya+Shazana = BFF! =)

Mira's Brother's Wedding @ Keramat (Saturday, 31st May 2008)

Salam,

After we bid goodbye to Nadzrah, we headed to the crib of another bestfriend of mine, Mira. It was her eldest brother's wedding so again we filled in our stomachs with more food but this time we were served with Nasi Kampung. Ummi and Nana they came to join us later.

This time we had such a good time karaokeing many songs from Ella's Rama-Rama to Azharina's Elegi Sepi, but nobody could beat the non-stop-promoting-himself DJ Mazlan. It was hillarious. We had so many good pics but yes I have lost them. So these are the remaining ones which Mira have edited. FYI Mira is a freelance photographer so I think her work is just so nice.

Mira looks so good here. The original pic.

After the editing using Photoshop.

Nadzrah's Brother's Wedding Ceremony @ Dewan TTDI (Saturday, 31st May 2008)

Salam,

I went for my classmate's brother's wedding at TTDI with my bestfriend Ina. Basically we ate a huge amount of Nasi Bryani Gam Johor since Nad's family is from Johor. Nadzrah looked so angelic in her turquoise Baju Kurung, pale pink shades of make-up and angelic hair-do. Unfortunately I have lost the photos when I have corrupted my external hard disk. So these are photos of Ina & I which I have uploaded on Myspace, photos of us beaming for the camera.

*I try my best not to use the term cam-whoring, that is just so trashy

Memang teringin nak jadi model ubat gigi tapi tak tercapai lagi :p
