Kelab Mawarku Shah Alam Charity Dinner @ Kelab Selangor, Shah Alam, Selangor. (Friday, 5th March 2010)

Salam,

Tonight my family and I attended the Kelab Mawarku (My Rose Club) Charity Dinner, to support the President who is Ummi's youngest sister, Hajjah Roslin @ Aunty Lin. Kelab Mawarku is a club involved by women who are UMNO members in Shah Alam. We attended together with Aunty Lin's family.

Malam Sejambak Mawar .. Night of A Bouquet of Roses .. the theme for the night. Yup some young dancers performing Malay traditional dance.

Ahhh now that's better... =) Hahaha seriously it was hillarious before it was removed because it was like listening to someone's voice on radio or something.

Kelab Mawarku launched their charity fund to help the less fortunate especially single mothers.

Nom Nom time!!! Mak Long's hand initiated our dining session. Awesome food prepared by Kelab Selangor. =)

Now it's the fashion show time. The emcee, a Dato' (a male Dato') who really acted like a double to Aznil Haji Nawawi coached the performance for the night, including the dance performances to the fashion show. The collection here comes from his bridal boutique.

The collection showed the different traditional costumes of Malay women from different states. The designs were nice, but we thought that the colours could be better, like this one above looked like it came from the 80's. Ummi said she loved all the clothes, so that convinced our hunch that they really made for the 80's.

Ok SERIOUSLY the fashion show took a long time (since it was sponsored) and Nana & I could not remember how many times we went to the restroom just to kill time..

Yes finally they wrapped the fashion show!

Now it's time for some musical entertainment (and this is not including the ever continuos singing from the emcee, really he really took advantage of 'entertaining' us with his non-stop singing). Luckily there was a pro singer, with a wonderful voice of course, Sarah Raisuddin. =)

She performed Big Spender as well as other 2 songs. I forgot whether she sang any of her hit tunes but for me, any singer must sing their own songs because the fans love them for their songs. Then we won some lucky draw stuff (which is very rare for us to win) and it was a good, family night for us. =)
