Pencarian jurusolek bertaraf antarabangsa oleh jenama kecantikan terkenal dunia, Maybelline New York menerusi program The Beauty In Me akhirnya terjawab apabila tiga peserta dipilih sebagai pemenang.
Kesembilan peserta The Beauty In Me, Maybelline berjaya mempamerkan bakat dan kreativiti yang begitu memukau pandangan pengadil dan penonton yang hadir pada hari terakhir pertandingan tersebut.
Setelah enam bulan menjalani kursus solekan di bawah pimpinan jurusolek artis tersohor Maybelline, Ching, kesembilan-sembilan peserta iaitu Nurulhuda, Tengku Nor Diyana, Ee Ling, Amelia Siah, Navviitha Tharmalingam, Suraya Anuar, Wan Aida, Caryn dan Faizah masing-masing menonjolkan persembahan yang begitu membanggakan.
Para peserta dinilai menerusi cara persembahan, tahap keyakinan diri, daya tenaga dan kemahiran yang dilihat menerusi kreativiti dan gaya solekan pada wajah seorang model. Melihat gaya penyampaian mereka ketika sesi make-over, kesemua sembilan peserta mempunyai cetusan idea yang harus dipuji. Kemahiran menerusi teknik gabungan warna, corak hiasan pada muka dan pakaian, memperlihatkan model begitu serasi dan klasik ketika menggayakan di atas pentas.
Sebagai melengkapi majlis terakhir pemilihan finalis, para peserta harus mengikuti sesi penerangan dengan teliti. Mereka juga berkongsi pengalaman mengenai cara-cara dan tujuan solekan yang bertemakan gaya New York. Kepetahan ketika berbicara dan aksi spontan yang ditonjolkan, seolah-olah mereka tidak berpatah semangat, berkarisma dan bertenaga.
Majlis yang bertempat di Kelab Espanda, Kuala Lumpur itu dikendalikan oleh dua personaliti televisyen dari program 3R, Celina dan Rafidah. Majlis bertambah meriah dengan seloka dan gimik mereka ketika mengumumkan gelaran tiga pemenang The Beauty in Me.
Pemenang utama, Amelia Siah Siang Yee, 21, berjaya menerima set solekan dari produk kecantikan Maybelline bernilai RM 500, tiket penerbangan ke New York, menyertai kelas solekan dan berpeluang bertemu dengan jurusolek artis popular antarabangsa, Troy Suratt.
Suraya Anuar, 20, dari Ampang, Selangor, menerima set solekan Maybelline berharga RM 300. Manakala tempat ketiga pula dimenangi oleh Navviitha Tharmalingam, menerima barangan Maybelline bernilai RM 200.
Sebagai pemenang pertama, Amelia meluahkan rasa gembira kerana berjaya melakukan yang terbaik buat diri dan ahli keluarganya. Menurutnya selama enam bulan mempelajari dan mencuba solekan dengan betul, akhirnya beliau memperoleh idea ketika melukis di atas muka adiknya.
"Kemenangan ini juga bergantung pada minat dan semangat saya selama enam bulan. Dan kini segala cita-cita saya telah terlaksana. Saya begitu terkejut sekali ketika diumumkan sebagai pemenang pertama The Beauty in Me memandangkan saya mula berlatih dan memilih tema solekan dalam masa yang singkat," jelasnya.
Beliau berjaya mencuri perhatian dengan pihak media dan pengadil setelah memilih tema metamorfosis iaitu lukisan separuh sayap rama-rama bersama gabungan warna yang begitu kreatif.
Sementara itu bertemakan Broadway Ballerina, Suraya menampilkan kreativiti yang tersendiri dengan gaya remaja feminin pada wajah yang dihiasi manik berbentuk berlian.
"Wanita harus memiliki keyakinan yang tinggi dalam mencapai kejayaan yang diingini. Bagi saya, wanita muda adalah orang yang paling ideal dan sesuai memakai solekan jenama Maybelline. Saya berpuashati dengan apa yang ditonjolkan, walaupun berasa penat tetapi ia berbaloi kerana saya dapat mempelajari cara-cara solekan yang betul secara percuma," jelas pelajar jurusan Undang-Undang Universiti Islam Antarabangsa (UIAM) ini.
Pelajar dari Kolej HELP, Damansara, jurusan ijazah Psikologi, Navviitha, 19, berkata, hasil pertolongan dan nasihat ibunya, beliau berjaya dinobatkan sebagai pemenang walaupun hanya di tempat ketiga.
"Saya berterima kasih kepada pihak Maybelline yang menganjurkan pertandingan sebegini dan tidak lupa juga buat ibu tersayang kerana tanpa bantuan beliau saya tidak dapat mencapai ke tahap seumpama ini. Segala pengalaman yang dilalui selama enam bulan mengajar saya erti persahabatan yang sebenar kerana di situ saya berpeluang mengenali lebih ramai kawan-kawan dan mempelajari selok-belok kerjaya sebagai seorang jurusolek artis," katanya.
Beliau yang menampilkan tema Glitzy Glam New York menambah, cara solekan yang dihasilkannya bersesuaian dengan gaya seorang wanita yang gemar kelihatan seksi dan glamor ketika menghadiri majlis yang berprestij.
Majlis yang diadakan secara gilang-gemilang itu ditaja oleh jenama produk Forever 21 bagi kesemua kelengkapan pakaian dan Grace Salon untuk dandanan rambut.
Persoalan siapa berjaya dinobatkan sebagai juara the Beauty in Me anjuran Maybelline kini terjawab.
Juara, Amelia Siah Siang Yee, sememangnya berbakat dalam solekan sejak di bangku sekolah lagi. Menurut beliau, melalui pembacaan di majalah, buku dan internet sedikit sebanyak memberi ilham terhadapnya tentang cara solekan dan kombinasi warna yang dilakukan pada wajah seseorang.
Sememangnya orang yang paling kerap memberi dorongan dalam meraih kejayaan adalah teman lelakinya.
"Tanpa pertolongan dan sokongan padu beliau dan keluarga, saya mungkin tidak akan berada di tempat sebegini. Walaupun kali pertama saya menyertainya, saya tetap berbangga dengan apa yang dilakukan sepanjang menyertai kursus The Beauty in Me yang dijalankan selama enam bulan. Biar pun masa berlalu begitu cepat, tetapi saya berpeluang mengenali ramai kawan-kawan dan berkongsi pengalaman bersama mereka," jelasnya kepada KOSMO!
Tambahnya segala pengalaman dan kenangan yang dikecapi bersama warga Maybelline dan raka-rakan akan kekal dalam ingatannya.

Amelia's Metamorphosis

The search for an international level make-up artiste by world reknowned beauty brand, Maybelline New York through The Beauty In Me programme is finally answered when 3 participants were selected as winners.
The nine participants of The Beauty In Me, Maybelline succeed in exposing talent and creativity which mesmerized the judges and audience who came on the finale of the competition.
After 6 months of undergoing the make-up course under the supervision of well-known Maybelline's make-up artiste, Ching, all nine participants Nurulhuda, Tengku Nor Diyana, Ee Ling, Amelia Siah, Navviitha Tharmalingam, Suraya Anuar, Wan Aida, Caryn dan Faizah presented remarkable performances.
Each participant was evaluated through their ways of presentation, confidence level, energy and skills which were seen through their creativity and make-up style on each model.
Looking at their ways and style of performance during the make-over session, all 9 participants had their own ideas which deserve to be praised. The skills were shown from the colour combination techniques, decorative designs on the face and attire, made the models appeared classically gorgeous when they strut their stuffs on the stages.
In order to complete the finale event, each participant had to undergo a detailed presentation session. All of them shared their experience regarding on the methods and purpose of their make-up which had the theme New York.
Eloquence while explaining and spontaneous actions which they performed, it seemed as though they would not easily give up, full of charisma and energy.
The event which took place at Espanda Club, Kuala Lumpur was hosted by 2 television personalities from the programme 3R, Celina and Rafidah. The event was more happening due to their endless jokes and gimics especially when they wanted to announce the winners.
The Grand Prize winner, Amelia Siah Siang Yee, 21, bagged home make-up products from Maybelline worth RM 500, a trip to New York, attended a make-up class there under the supervision of Maybelline's infamous celebrity makeup artiste, Troy Surratt.
Suraya Anuar, 20, from Ampang, Selangor, received a Maybelline make-up products worth RM 300. Meanwhile third place was obtained by Navviitha Tharmalingam, whom received Maybelline products worth RM 200.
As the Champion, Amelia expressed her happiness because she succeed to do her best for herself and family members.
According to her, after six months of learning and experimenting for the right make-up style, finally she attained the idea when she was drawing on her sister's face.
" This winning of mine depended on my passion and high spirit during the six months. Finally my dreams have come true."
" I was astonished when I was announced as the Champion of pertama The Beauty In Me since I only practised and chose the theme of my make-up only in a short period. " she explained.
She stole the attention of the media and judges by choosing the theme Metamorphosis which is a drawing of half the wing of a butterfly in a very creative colour combination.
Whereas, with the theme Broadway Ballerina, Suraya showed original creativity with the style of a feminine teenager on the face of the model which was decorated with sequins and diamantes.
" Women have to have a high confidence level in attaining the succeed which they desire. As for me, young women are the most ideal people to use Maybelline make-up products."
"I am satisfied with my performance, although I feel exhausted but it is all worth it because I had the chance to learn the proper make-up skills for free. " remarked this Law undergraduate of International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM).
A Psychology student from HELP College University, Damansara, Navviitha, 19, informed that, with the help and advice of her mother, she succeed to be a winner although only at the third place.
" I am thankful to Maybelline whom held this sort of competition and not forgetting my beloved mother because without her help and support I would not be able to reach this point. "
" Every experience in this journey for the whole six months taught me the meaning of real friendships because I had the opportunity to make more friends learning the do's and dont's as make-up artistes," she said.
She came up with the theme Glitzy Glam New York added, the kind of make-up she presented was suitable with the lifestyle of a woman who is a sexy siren loves to be sexy and glamourous attending prestigious events.
This happening event was sponsored by Forever 21 for wardrobe while hair-dos were sponsored by Grace Salon.
The question of who was going to be announced champion of The Beauty In Me, conducted by Maybelline has been answered. The champion, Amelia Siah Siang Yee, is indeed talented in make-up since she was in school.
She informed, through reading magazines, books and surfing the internet, it gave her inspiration and knowledge on make-up techniques especially on colour combination on the face.
It is not denied that the person who gave her the utmost support in order for her to gain success was her boyfriend.
" Without his and my family's solid help and support, I would not be at this stage. Although this is the first time I entered a competition like this, I am proud with my efforts during the whole period of joining The Beauty In Me course for six months."
" Although time flies so fast, I still had the chance to know many new friends and share experiences with them." she explained toKOSMO!
She added, all the experiences and memories she gained with the Maybelline family and friends will remain in her memory.
