Tonight I like to bring you readers to one of my family's favourite restaurants. We love spicy Thai cuisine (I think my most favourite food is Thai), so besides ordering at the ordinary Tom Yam stalls for the ordinary nights if we don't cook, this restaurant is a must dine at least once a month for us.
It is Tanjung Seafood & BBQ that is located at Ampang Waterfront (though there's no actual river or lake there, just a big drain at the back, so the name is so irrelevant.) nearby Taman Kosas, Ampang.

We first tried this restaurant when we read it in the newspaper that this restaurant offers terrific authentic Thai Cuisine Krabi-style at crazy affordable prices. The cooks are all from Thailand and the uniqueness is since it is cooked Krabi-style so it's the kind of Thai cuisine you experience on islands instead of the Southern Thai cooking available at most cheaper places.
We also like the friendliness of its owners and their staff. Since we are among the regulars here, so they always smile and chat with us a little everytime we come here.
I really like the friendliness, I don't like the air of arrogance in restaurant crews or in fact from anyone running any store. For me, customers is the most valuable asset of a business therefore they must be treated with great honour. Or at least don't show that you just had a bad day.

Usually huge families dine here, from the grandparents to the grandchildren. The restaurant is clean and comfortable. We always say this restaurant takes part in Facebook's Cafe World game since they would add something new in their decor little by little everytime we come. =D

Ummi was craving for this but we were not trying this one yet for tonight. Steamboat set for 2 to 4 person at RM 48 nett. Steamboat of fishball, crabstick, eggs, Puyuh eggs, Chinese cabbage, Japanese Tau Fu, Mushrooms, Japanese mushrooms, Meat, Prawns, Fish, Noodles and Suhun or Wun Sen. See I told you this restaurant is affordable that they put the lines "Tight Budget??? We can solve it." in this ad. However FYI this was the promotion price, now the price is slightly here. We saw many people ordered this.Yes, check out what we had! We used to order more sometimes depending on the combo meal where we ordered more seafood, however tonight not that much, still it's a lot. *grinning sheepishly*
Jus Oren Segar (Fresh Orange Jus). RM 3.50.
Jus Tembikai Laici (Watermelon Juice with Lychees). RM 4.50.Yummeyyh!
Telur Dadar (Fried Omelette). RM 3.00. The first few times we ate the Telur Dadar here it was really trrific, like so thick and fluffy but not anymore now it's just ordinary. =(
Kerabu Talay or Kerabu Sotong (Squid Kerabu or Squid Salad Thai style) RM 8.90.A must try! Arooooyyy!!! Hehe that's delicious in Thai. Just incredible. Must order!
Siakap 3 Rasa (3 Flavours Cherry Snapper). RM 29.90. The typical fish dish most people order at Tom Yam eateries, where the gravy is sweet, sour and hot. Usually our favourite at Tanjung is the fish cooked with Lemon gravy which is unique and oh so tasty but the 3 Rasa is fine too. However I advise you if you like to order fish, come early otherwise the size of the fish would be quite small like this one. Usually when we come earlier the size is quite humongous most of the time.
Ayam Pandan (Fried Chicken in Pandan Leaves). RM 9.90. My all-time favourite since childhood! They cooked them well, just the right amount of tenderness and juiciness and not dried at all. And the size of all 6 pieces is not too big nor not too small, but bigger would never be a problem though. =D
Yes so people, if you crave for authentic Thai cuisine Krabi-style with nice food decoration at a clean, comfortable restaurant wearing something comfortable, and yes where you are welcomed by friendly and helpful staff, Tanjung Seafood & BBQ is the place to be! Awesome I love Tanjung hehe! Two thumbs up!
