Salam,
Right on the left side of the Independence Palace gate, there's located a quaint boutique offering Vietnam's traditional apparel for women, better known as Ao Dai (pronounced as Ao Yai). Ao Dai is a long, very figure hugging 2-piece garment made from usually silk, satin or sometimes brocade or cotton. Normally very heavily designed with vibrant colours.
At this boutique, I Ngoc Si Hoang Gallery offers haute couture Ao Dai, meaning that it offers the most exclusive and exquisite pieces of Ao Dai, custom-made and usually 1 piece per creation only. Haute Couture also means expensive prices haha, because they offer only the finest made from the best quality fabric of course. This gallery reminds me of the Gallery Seri Endon at Bukit Damansara which offers the finest Malaysian Batik.
Gorgeous Ao Dais at the main display area.
This piece looked much nicer in person, because it has one pink flower on one shoulder as you can see and embellished with pearls and diamantes. Maybe real pearls but I wouldn't know.
They also sell a selection of high quality fabric for customers to choose and have them tailor-made here.
All sorts of fabric, plain, colourfully dyed, beaded, almost everything that you can imagine.
The 1st floor of the Gallery where it offers a selection of more glamourous Ao Dai suitable for night functions. Mostly black with exquisite features.
Reminded me of Abayas except that these are super tight! =p
Miss Universe 2008 was held in Vietnam, therefore all the uber hot women worn the Ao Dai from this Gallery on the runway.
Some photos from the event.
I love this piece. So elegant yet so super sexy.

A sitting area on the first floor. I am not sure whether these furniture here are for sale as well or not, because the paintings in the gallery are for sale too. Really fine paintings as well.

Intricately designed on the back.
So readers, if you wish to have a piece or two of the finest Ao Dai from Ho Chi Minh City, do not forget to drop by at I Ngoc Si Hoang Gallery, right next to the Independence Palace. =)
