Salam,
Since I promised my client to do her make-up by 10.30 a.m my family and I had ample time for our breakfast. When we were outside the hotel, we saw some locals have already started to return home from their grocery shopping at the
Pasar Tani (Farmer's Market).
Pasar Tani (Farmer's Market), a common scenario in Malaysia especially on Saturday mornings or evenings.
We just walked through it while searching for somewhere to have breakfast. We then went to a Mamak restaurant named Jannah (Heaven in Arabic) and had our breakfast. The food was OK but nothing to shout about.

Ummi and Nana sharing Roti Telur (Roti Canai with Egg).
The prices are cheap too since Nasi Lemak with Fried Egg is only RM 1.50 per plate (In KL usually RM 2.50) and we had 2 Nasi Lemak, 1 Capati, 1 Roti Telur, 1 Iced Milo and 1 Kopi O (Black Coffee) and the total was only RM 10.00
While having breakfast, I went back to the Pasar Tani and went to check out the Kerepek Pisang (Banana Crackers) sold by an elderly lady at a small foldable table. Wondering that her Kerepek Pisang must taste good since that is her sole product she is selling. When I wanted to buy she even offered me some free samples. People have samples when they are confident with their products. I bought 2 packets, RM 2 each and brought back to Jannah. We decided that was the tastiest Kerepek Pisang we have ever tried. So Ummi asked us to buy some for Tok Mama and to be brought home.

Nana the Kerepek Pisang shopper.
Kerepek Pisang yang baiiiikk punyeee! Hehe RM 2 per packet and stuffed packed each packet. When we came back for more, the lady selling these asked us "Tak cukup ke?" (Not enough?) but we told her that it tastes so good. Then she happily said, "Eh memanglah ghanguppp inih Pisang Nangkee bukan Pisang Abuuuu..!" (Of course it is crispy since this is Pisang Nangka not Pisang Abu). Hahaha her heavy Perak dialect really made me miss my relatives in Pengkalan Pegoh especially my late Opah Yang.
Then my client informed me to come a little later and since we had nothing else to do we decided to just drive around further. We saw another Bundle shop but it was closed. Then we drove further and saw a signboard to a campsite. Did not jot down its name but the place is quite nice and some people were bathing and having picnics.

Nana, the main star of my blog always willing to pose even when she is in her worse moods.
Unfortunately the chopping of innocent trees still happened at the same time we were enjoying the environment. =(
Yup after attending the client for her bridal make-up, I snapped some photos at the wedding. Check them out.

The Bridal Dais or Pelamin in Malay.
Below are some of the Hadiah Hantaran (Bridal Gifts) from both sides.

Men's Shirt, Men's Watch and Toiletries.
Lumix camera. I love love love Lumix camera (I am using my sister's earlier model now) because for those who do not have an SLR Camera to do professional photography, a normal person like me still can have good quality photos with a Lumix model like this.
More cupcakes with nicer designs. It was really nice of the couple to give my family 2 of them since they said it would be too much for them to eat anyway ;D
Very great gift, you can never go wrong with SKII skin care products.
A handbag from Bonia.
Yes now it is time for us to feed ourselves again with lunch this time.

Nana.
Actually the food was the typical 'kenduri kahwin' food but the unique part was the dessert where we were served with Bubur Anak Lebah (Child of the Bee Porridge, please bear with me for the direct translation, apparently I do not know the exact word to address the child of the bee). We were surprised when my client informed that their family made the porridge themselves because we thought the porridge was really made from bees! (yes yes I know it's crazy to imagine too far beyond.) but actually the porridge is a very hot and tasty milky porridge with mild but sufficient sweetness in it. It tastes more like Kuih Lapis, you know the one in pink and white but in the form of hot liquid. It tastes so good especially when it goes down to your throat. Ayah told me that the Bubur Anak Lebah is actually a traditional delicacy in Perak which not many people know how to make it anymore.

Yes we also have Cendol as well for a cooling dessert.
Check out the gourmet food for the Bride & Groom. Yummy fish I see. This was taken at the kitchen table so please ignore the caca-merba look. :p
Uhuh after the wedding since Ummi wanted to buy some fertilizers for her plants, we went to a nursery nearby. Men should understand that the potted plants, flower pots and fertilizer out of KL is much cheaper than the prices in KL, so if your woman is so keen on going to the nursery when you are out of KL just make her happy OK.

Flower pots, flower pots and more flower pots.
A nursery in Kuala Kangsar.
A sample of Nana's photos for the blog when she is not in the mood.
Check out the Organic Fertilizer Ummi purchased. 13 of them tak agak-agak punya! The Chinese uncle sells one dozen at RM 20 only (if in Kuala Lumpur he told us would be up till RM 43 for a dozen but since Ummi bought a dozen he generously gave another one for free. =))
Yup I love the fact that this uncle speaks Malay fully in all his sentences and even said to me in a very old-fashioned charming way "Terima kasih Cik Adik." which translates to "Thank you young lady."
Such a gentleman, how charming. =)
A cow passing by with his owner in the nursery.
Later that evening, after taking a short nap. We went to Kuala Kangsar's picturesque landmark; Masjid Ubudiah (Ubudiah Mosque). This classic architecture of the mosque is so mesmerizing that it is a synonym picture on Hari Raya Aidilfitri cards.
By the way I am taking the opportunity to publish the photos of us in Kuala Kangsar when we went to a relative's wedding in 2008 which I procrastinated to update in my blog.
Ala-ala Pengacara Nona gitu *harapan tinggi menggunung*
Ok starting from this point, I would like you to participate in this game. It is called "Mana Nana?" (Where is Nana?). Here is the challenge. Nana blended very well in the background of some of the pics, so try to look at the photos and see how many seconds it will take for you to spot her. Let's start.
Picture 1: Mana Nana?
Picture 2: Mana Nana?
Aaaahhh...you are just too good ;)
Of course Nana is everywhere.
Alah manjalah tu...adehhh..
The Blue couple.
Yes as I have mentioned many couples got hitched on this Christmas Day or the day before, so many couple took the opportunity to snap their bridal photos at the mosque. My clients wore Red, we saw others wearing Blue, Yellow, Green, Pink, Brown and White. All scattered in the mosque to take photos while congratulating each other =) Best of all, all the Brides were slim like models I just thought it was lucky no one was fat or else the fat one would feel a little inferior taking the photos. Just a thought though :p

Oh yes below are some photos also taken before the wedding in 2008. These were at Istana Kenangan or Muzium Diraja (Royal Museum), the old traditional palace of the Perak Royal Family. Wonderfully like many other traditional palaces and mosques in Malaysia, this too was built without using even one nail. There is no entrance fee at all, but is also would not cost you anything just to smile and give salam to the guard. =)

I just love the outstanding combination of Black, Yellow and White which are also the colours of the Perak flag. For those who do not know, Yellow is the colour that represents Royalty. In the olden days, only members of the Royal Family had the privilege to wear yellow, otherwise the commoners wearing yellow would be sentenced.
Love love the intricate carving.
Ummi & Nana.
Inside the palace/museum, there are many old artifacts related to the royal family. Interesting to see and to add as your general knowledge.

Living their dream of becoming Royal Members. Ummi immitated Queen Elizabeth, waving gently to her subjects.
Puteri Deena? (Princess Deena?)
No no Warrior Princess Deena actually.
Yes another round of Mana Nana? please. =)
Youths competing in Thai Kick-boxing or Tomoy/Muay Thai. I love Kuala Kangsar because it is peaceful, clean, great landscapes almost everywhere and full of healthy activities. I do not think one would not be bored being in Kuala Kangsar unless if you choose to mope around in the room.
